Vote August 4!
The primary election is Tuesday, August 4!
Polling locations
Wondering where your polling place is? The St. Louis County Board of Elections has a polling place lookup tool, which you can access HERE.
Polling locations are open from 6am-7pm on Tuesday, August 4.
Absentee voting begins June 23: Here’s what that means
Certain categories of people can vote “absentee” – meaning they can vote before August 4 either (1) in person at the Board of Elections at 725 Northwest Plaza Dr. St. Ann, MO 63074 or (2) by completing an application to get a ballot via mail.
Those categories include people who will be away from the County on August 4, people who will be employed as an election authority on election day, and those who are incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability or are caring for someone who is incapacitated or confined. (See the statute listing all of the categories HERE, and see the sample absentee ballot below.)
For 2020 ONLY, there is another category of absentee voters: those who have contracted COVID or who fit into certain “at risk” categories. Those “at risk” categories include any of the following: * Is age 65 or older * Lives in a long term care facility * Has chronic lung disease/asthma * Has a serious heart condition * Is immunocompromised * Has diabetes * Has chronic kidney disease and are undergoing dialysis * Has liver disease.
If you fit into one of those categories, you can vote absentee in person or via mail beginning June 23.
IN PERSON: If you prefer to vote absentee in person:
Simply go to 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, St. Ann, MO 63074 M-F between the hours of 8:00-4:30pm. Absentee in-office voting ends Monday, August 3 at 5:00pm (the Election Board will be open 1/2 hour later).
BY MAIL: If you prefer to vote absentee by mail:
FIRST: Fill out your absentee ballot application. The St. Louis County Board of Elections has posted the application online here: https://stlouisco.com/Portals/8/docs/document%20library/elections/Absentee/ABS_August.pdf
- NOTE: You must check the box next to the reason you want to vote absentee. Two reasons for voting absentee do NOT require notarized ballots – incapacity or confinement due to illness and being in an at-risk for COVID category. (We highlighted them in yellow in the image below). Ballots requested under any of the other reasons must be notarized.

- NOTE: Be sure to choose your party affiliation when you request an absentee ballot, or you’ll get a non-partisan ballot, which doesn’t include candidates! (See the highlighted part of the image below.)

- NOTE: The application itself is not a ballot, and filling it out will not mean you have voted in the election. It just means you’ll get a ballot in the mail. You do NOT need to have your ballot application notarized.
SECOND: Return your absentee ballot application.
- BY EMAIL to BOECAbsentee@stlouisco.com;
- BY FAX to 314-615-1998, BY MAIL to 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, St. Ann, MO 63074,
- OR IN PERSON at 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, St. Ann, MO 63074,
You will receive a ballot in the mail.
ONLY For 2020: Vote By Mail Due to COVID
For 2020 only, even if you do not fit into any of the absentee voting categories, you can still vote by mail. Here’s how.
FIRST: Fill out the application at https://stlouisco.com/Portals/8/docs/document%20library/elections/Absentee/ABS_August.pdf
Choose the “mail-in ballot request” option for requesting a ballot. (See highlighted portion of the image below).

- NOTE: Again, be sure to choose your party affiliation when you request an absentee ballot, or you’ll get a non-partisan ballot, which doesn’t include candidates!
- NOTE: The application itself is not a ballot, and filling it out will not mean you have voted in the election. It just means you’ll get a ballot in the mail. You do NOT need to have your ballot application notarized.
SECOND: Return your application. Unlike the absentee voting applications above, you cannot email or fax your application to vote-by-mail due to COVID. Your application MUST be delivered by U.S. mail or in person to the St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners, 725 Northwest Plaza, St. Ann, MO 63074.
I’ve got my ballot. Now what?
If you are voting absentee by mail because you are incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability, because you fit into one of the COVID risk factor groups, you DO NOT need to have your ballot notarized. All others (you’ll be out of town or are working the polls, etc.) DO need to be notarized.
If you are voting by mail due to the 2020 COVID vote-by-mail option, you DO need to have your ballot notarized.
What ID Do I Need?
If you are a registered voter, you can vote!
Use ANY of the following forms of ID:
An ID issued by the federal government, the state of Missouri, an agency of the state or a local election authority (like a drivers license, Missouri non-driver’s license, passport, or Military ID)
A voter registration card, a student ID from a Missouri university, college, vocation or technical school
A utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or government check – or other government document showing your name and address
Forget your purse? You can still vote by casting a provisional ballot. If your signature matches the signature on the voter registry, your vote will still be counted!
Make a plan to vote, and make your voice heard!
Vote for Kelli Dunaway on Tuesday, August 4!
